Tris & Soph’s Surfwagon Fund

On Christmas Eve 2023, our beloved campervan (Betty) was crashed into and written off by a drunk driver. Tristan had spent months of hard work and over £20k on the van itself and fitting it out to make it a liveable and comfortable (if basic) home on wheels. Our insurance company didn’t give us enough in the payout to replace the van, let alone the contents, and we’re now without a vehicle that can get us and our longboards to the beach!

Our honeymoon plan was to take Betty to France, Spain, and Portugal in search of great food, great memories, and great waves. Without a van, this won’t be possible. As part of our ongoing commitment to minimise our impact on the planet, we have pledged to be flight-free for life. A van really is our only way of taking our boards and riding those waves we’ve been dreaming of.

We’re hoping to combine whatever we can save with whatever people are able to give to get us back on the road, and into the ocean.
