Ok let's get straight to the point : )
Recently a group of EAST SUSSEX creatives...

...decided to stage Alex's 1st ever play 'Trippin' with £50, 5 days of rehearsals and endless energy, skill and commitment.
We did it! And it was a sell-out hit. (*See reviews & Audience comments below)
To quote our amazing director Sean: "The actors performed bravely and powerfully, putting their all into every moment. The audience loved the excitement, the crudity, the irreverence, alongside the message of the piece: love and the frailty of the human mind. Whilst directing I was always aware of how a young mind can go to chaos. Mental illness is very real".
The sell-out run was extended and attracted the attention of a New York producer on a worldwide search for the BEST FRINGE shows of 2017. He saw TRIPPIN and LOVED it!
And now...
...has been invited to do 8 shows at the SoHo Playhouse OFF-BROADWAY in NEW YORK this Sept as part of the Fringe ENCORE season. WE - ARE STILL IN SHOCK LOL
But! (No. 1) to take advantage of this incredible opportunity....
!! WE NEED YOUR HELP !!
Although the cost of staging the show is being covered by the fabulous SoHo Playhouse, we need to raise ALL the travel / living expenses for a company of 6 going to New York for 2 weeks.
Here's our approximate breakdown of costs (subject to amendment):
Flights to New York x6: £3,300.
Airbnb 2 weeks (sharing altogether!): £1,680.
Food and travel (we hear the bagels are great): £4,320
( £60 per person per day).
TOTAL £9,000
GOOD NEWS!! We already have a £1,000 profit from our Eastbourne shows : ) We are reinvesting that toward NYC and taking no personal payment.
so... we still need to raise £8,000!
** THIS is the MINIMUM we need to raise to go YAY! **
But! (No. 2) We’d also love to be paid to do our work- there’s no better feeling. At ITC** touring rates that is another £6,000.
So all together we would love to raise £15,000
We're desperate to take this amazing NEW & INCREDIBLE play, forged with love in East Sussex through determination, dedication, raw talent and our passion for the arts, and proudly showcase it to an OFF-BROADWAY audience.
