Trippets Lounge Bar & Jazz Club resides in a quirky old building in the centre of Sheffield; a city known for its hospitality and love of music.
Chef and I opened Trippets in 2015 and we worked hard to offer everyone the opportunity to drink, dine, dance and enjoy some of the best live jazz from local musicians (all gigs accessed for free); meeting friends and like minded souls in a safe & comfortable environment ....until a few months ago.
Now, given the government’s green light to re-open, we are determined to breathe life back into Trippets.
Noting the need to protect all those who visit or work at Trippets we have already made plans to accommodate this. We are installing sneeze guards around the bar and are putting in place protocols for the protection of customers, delivery personnel and staff; following government guidelines regarding day to day cleaning, sanitising and how we use the space available to provide the best, safest service possible.
The disappointing news is that we will not be allowed the live performances so essential to Trippets. We will not be thwarted! We are liaising with some of our regular musicians and are investigating how we can record their gigs and play them back to you.
It goes without saying that these measures, the need to re-stock (perishable goods were distributed between staff & friends, wine was returned to local suppliers to lessen bills owed) and to be able to install projection equipment and book musicians, who will otherwise be out of work for some while yet, is costly.
With your help, we hope to raise money to cover some of these expenses.
Those donating will receive a Trippets Membership card. Membership will give you priority booking for tastings and festivals, free venue hire for private events and whenever possible (numbers permitting) priority on the door.
We do appreciate that, with all the horror of the last few months, our request is not a priority but would be extremely grateful should you feel able to contribute.
