4 years ago the Lord planted a longing in my heart to bring the gospel and clean drinking water to villages overseas. At the time I had very little direction and very little knowledge of the depth that lie ahead.
In February of this year the Lord refined my calling and captivated my heart for the country of Rwanda – located in the southeast portion of Africa. Late February I applied for a short term mission trip with Living Water International where I was told I was 40+ in line for Rwanda, and that it was not likely I would be able to attend a trip in 2018.
Discouraged and disappointed I wrestled to surrender the call that weighed so heavy on my spirit and was prompted to trust – to trust in His goodness, to trust in His sovereignty, and to trust in His timing.
'In the meantime' was an invitation. An invitation to partner with the Lord where my feet were planted as He faithfully prepared me for a call - that without preparation - would've crippled me.
Fast forward, I received an email a few weeks ago that a spot was available on a trip going to Rwanda in November of this year. Friend may I encourage you, He sees you – and me – and longs to enchant our hearts. It is by His magnitude alone that I will be in the Rwanda in 46 days, parterning to bring clean drinking water and the gospel to the Rwandan people. He fulfilled His promise and I truly believe this miracle marks the beginning of what the Lord can and will do in and through His people.
If nothing else, friend, I pray you are encouraged. I pray that the Lord would breathe new purpose and joy into your wait as promised in Romans 15:13. I can attest that 'in the meantime' holds just as much purpose and promise as the fulfilment of your longing.
I would be so honored if you would you partner with me in prayer over the people, the encounters, and the divine the Father is going to carry out.
Thank you to those who have walked with me through the tears, the fear, the joy, and the promise. I truly would not be able to walk on promised ground without your strength, encouragement, and love. To Him be the glory Psalm 115:1.
