Trina's Wish to go to Disneyland!
My young sister Katrina (AKA Trina) was diagnosed with the aweful disease of ALS! She is the 4th generation in our family to be affected by this disease and she is the youngest yet at being diagnosed at the age of just 35 years old!
What is ALS: ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord.
In my words: A disgusting inhumane disease that steals a person's ability to walk, talk, eat on their own, take care of themselves all while their knowing brain stays unaffected. So people literally get "robbed" of their lives and are completely aware of what is happening to their bodies!!
My sister has one last wish before she is completely unmobile and completely loses here ability to speak! She is already almost permantely wheelchair bound and her speech has slowed way down. She wants to go to Disneyland one more time and she wants to be sure to go with her young nephew age 7 and young niece age 2. Disneyland is one of Trina's all time favorite memories as a child and she wants to be able to share that with her niece and nephew one time before she can't enjoy it anymore.
All the money will go towards a trip to Disneyland for my sister! There will be 6 total people going including our mother, myself, my other half and our two small children that are her niece and nephew.
Time is running out as new symptoms are coming everyday for my sister! We are hoping to raise the funds by mid October to ensure my sister will still enjoy the trip. I want to do everything in my power to grant my sister's last wish! I love my sister with all my heart and would do anything to bring her joy in this time of life challenges! She is not only my sister I truly love but she is the key holder to many of my childhood memories...I want to spend any last time I have with her making new memories that we have always cherished together!
