On Tuesday March 6th Trina will be starting chemotherapy. The name of the chemo is AC-T. She will have treatment every other week for 8 sessions (4 months). Once a week for 5 weeks she will receive the "T" drug of the treatment. This will make her fatigued, cause mouth sores, nausea, and just to add insult to injury she will lose her hair. When that fun is done Trina will undergo surgery and most likely radiation to ensure her body is rid of the evil that has so unceremoniously invaded it.
Despite all the difficult news being delivered Trina has faced this with the bravery and optimism all of us know she is capable of displaying during the hardest of times. A single mom of two, who almost never shows signs of worry or distress, she is taking this challenge head on with humor and courage. Too proud to ask for help I am taking on the task of asking all of you, friends and family, to do what you can to help lighten the burden. Her need is immediate and overwhelming for any person in good health to face, let alone someone who is going to be undergoing such difficult and debilitating treatment.
Any funds donated will go towards the cost of treatment and other related expenses. Whether this be co-pays, prescriptions, treatments, or possibly a wig for that unthinkable and inevitable time when Trina looses her hair.
Given the swiftness with which her medical team has chosen to act Trina has been left with no time to prepare financially for such an unbearable disruption and impact to both her ability to work, but also her ability to save towards these unplanned expenses.
To know Trina is to love her. If you've ever been on the receiving end of her infectious laugh or a pick me up speech on a down day, you know her heart is pure. She is braver than she knows, stronger than she thinks, and loved by a village of people who I have no doubt will band together tohelp during this trying time.
Please do what you can. Any amount helps. Whatever you can do will bring that much more relief to someone who needs to focus on healing and not focus on how to pay for the treatment that will bring that healing.
I thank you all for any help you can provide, in any amount.
