TRIforTBI

Hello Friends and Family!

2018 is a big year for me.  Not only did I turn 60 but I decided to do my first ever Triathlon.  Better late than never!  I have taken my motivation during training from my awesome nephew, Mike DeStefano, who suffers from Traumatic Brain Injury or TBI as a result of a serious car accident he survived when he was 19 years old.

Today, Mike, a young man of 26, continues to work his butt off to re-establish physical functions that most of us take for granted. His courage and tenacity is inspirational!

So on Sunday, August 26, 2019,  I “Tri” for “TBI” and ask for your generosity to help me raise funds for the Michael A. DeStefano Foundation (MADF), co-founded by myself and other loving supporters to provide advocacy and financial support to TBI patients.

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is an important public health problem in the United States. Because the problems that result from TBI, such as those of thinking and memory, are often not visible, and because awareness about TBI among the general public is limited, it is frequently referred to as
the “silent epidemic.”

Your generous donations go directly to MADF, a 50l(c)3 charity, to help TBI patients with funding for medical expenses and state of the art treatments not funded by insurance.

Thank you for your helping me bring a voice to the Silent Epidemic!  I will be thinking of you all with every stroke, spin and stride!
