* UPDATE TO THE BELOW- In addition to everything else going on, we found out that a company we've relied on for the past 6 years is unable to afford to renew our contract this year. They gave us no forewarning which left us unable to prepare & we've fallen behind on bills but are trying our best to catch up. If any of you run across someone who needs graphic design, motion graphics, animation, book trailers, or book formatting for print, e-books, or comixology, please send them our way. I'm terrified! My brother has to move out of a place we share with him by the end of November due to circumstances beyond his control & we can't afford to live here without him. My parents want to move in, but my mom just lost her job and she may not be able to afford to move in to help us out. My dad's health isn't the best, so he can't work. My mom is looking for a job right now. Actually, any money we raise, we are spilitting with my parents to help them out too. My husband & I are doing all the work we can to prevent us from becoming homeless, but it's looking very grim. My Autistic son also lives here and he would end up homeless with us. He's been desperately trying to find a job but no one wants to hire him.
If we lose this place, we also lose our business. We run a very small production company (just us two) and we need to have internet access and a place to set up our computer so we can make money by doing graphics, editing videos and other projects for our clients. We also have gigs outside of our company, but none of these things are enough to help us afford to live here or to afford to get another place on such short notice.
I never thought I would have to beg people for help. I've always been a very independent and stubborn person who insists on being self-reliant. But if I let my pride stand in the way, we will lose everything.
