Tribute Video: In Memory of Jonah

Dear Family, Friends, Teachers, & Students Who Knew Jonah:
My name is Stelth Ng and I was one of Jonah’s closest friends. His passing has affected the lives of so many and his struggle with depression and mental illness should not go unnoticed or be forgotten.
Jonah has been such a huge influence in who I am and what I do today. Since his passing, I have been in touch with his family and numerous close friends.
A group of us - all alumni of the National Youth Orchestra of Canada - have arranged for a tribute music/dance film to be made in honour of Jonah. Our hope is to immortalize the memory of his musical voice and his humble personality, while solidifying his musical and artistic endeavours during his life. As well, we are hoping to bring attention to the devastating effect mental illness can have on the lives and well-being of musicians and artists alike.
Our group of musicians - all of whom knew Jonah closely and shared fond memories with him both on and off stage - are recording a viola quintet, alongside a pair of dancers, choreographer, cinematographer, audio engineer, and producers. As well, arrangements with his family have been made to loan Jonah's own viola for this project, which will be played on for the making of this project.
The only thing at this point preventing us from successfully executing this production is the financial limitations. The funding we are asking for will be going towards travel expenses for our out of town artists, venue space, camera rentals, and paying the artists and video and audio team for their work.
We are all hoping that by reaching out to those who knew Jonah, that there would be an interest in helping support and seeing this production through. It would mean so much to us all; no matter the amount or help provided.
The filming and recording is scheduled to start in May.
The release of this production will be in the Fall of 2018.
