Tribute to Jared - for Devin, Colten, and Cayden

On April 20, Jared Young was on his way to pick up his oldest son, Colten, for spring-time baseball practice.  Tragically, he lost control of the vehicle, and his injuries proved fatal.

 

Jared Young died at age 38, leaving his wife, Devin, and two young boys, Colten, age 7, and Cayden, 2-years old.

Jared and Devin had recently decided for Devin to work from home to spend more time with their two boys and provide additional support for their youngest, Cayden, who intensive therapy sessions every week after being diagnosed with Autism.

 

Jared enjoyed sharing his love of fishing, hunting, mushrooming, gardening, and raising rabbits and baby chicks with his two young boys and wife.

Devin and Jared often shared their dreams of growing old, moving to the Upper Peninsula and starting a business where their youngest, Cayden, would be able to contribute and always be taken care of - transforming his autism from a disability into a "unique ability.

 

With Jared's sudden and tragic death, Devin and her two young boys are emotionally crushed. Yet, as a community, we can come together to support her in a tangible, material way.

Devin, now a single mother of two young boys - one with a disability - is faced with no income, no car, and daunting funeral expenses. While we cannot bring her husband back, we can honor Jared by giving some respite to his wife and two young boys.
