In tribute to the 13 Victoria Cross recipients from the Brigade of Gurkhas; I, Spr Sulav Rana from 69 Gurkha Field Squadron, 36 Engineer Regiment and the Queen’s Gurkha Engineers will take the challenge of rowing 13 km (13,000 meter) every day in rowing machine for 31 consecutive days, beginning on New Year’s Day, 1 Jan 2025 whilst deploying in OP LAZURITE.
This challenge is a tribute to their extraordinary courage, sacrifice, and legacy of our forefather.
Fund Raising Purpose:
My aim is to raise £500 to support the Trailwalker team from 36 Engineer Regiment and the Queen’s Gurkha Engineers, providing vital assistance for their training, nutrition, gears, medical and recovery needs as they prepare for challenge.
Background:
Having twice represented 36 Engr Regt and the Queen’s Gurkha Engineers in Trailwalker 100 km race in 2021 and 2022, I have come to understand that with rigorous training, our team requires significant financial support during their training.
In 2024, our regiment was very close to victory and achieved an overall second place with an outstanding time of 9 hours 42 minutes.
To build on this success, I aim to raise essential funds to support the Trailwalker team, providing them with necessary resources for training and nutrition to secure victory in upcoming Trailwalker.
Your contribution, no matter the size, will make meaningful difference in ensuring the team and regiment’s success.
