TRI FOR JORDAN
Nine men of 1 Sqn RAF Regiment are currently deployed out of area. Whilst away we will undertake one of the hardest, most physically demanding challenges of our careers in order to assist FS Jordan Brown and his family raising much needed funds for treatment in Texas, USA and raising awareness for the Brain Tumour Charity.
Each man will complete the ‘Tri for Jordan’ challenge.
What does this entail?
Utilising Sqn history, each man will cover the distance from Habbaniya (a 1 Sqn RAF Regt Battle Honour from its 1 Armoured Car Coy days) to RAF Honington. We will then cover the distance back to Habbaniya again. To celebrate the RAF’s 100 year anniversary we will complete this task in 100 days.
Covering an incredible distance of 9518 miles we will run, row and ride the entire distance using all facilities available to us such as treadmills, cycling and rowing machines.
The route.
We will run the distance from Habbaniya to the port of Santander in Spain covering 3463 miles.
We will then row the distance to a small port in Scotland called Cairnryan covering 916 miles.
From here, we will bike the remaining distance to RAF Honington via Jordan’a hometown in Dumfries totalling 381 miles.
We will then do the whole journey in reverse in a triathlon style event.
