TRI for Eating Disorders

Tax deductible
When I was just 13 years old I was diagnosed with a life threatening eating disorder. Throughout my 16 years of suffering I have endured upwards of 15 lengthy life saving hospital admissions as well as a lot of life saving emergency admissions, all due to my Eating Disorder. Last year, my Eating Disorder nearly killed me. I was rushed to emergency in severe bradychardia. I was then confined to a wheel chair and was not allowed out of bed due to the enormous risk of my heart stopping if I were to do so. My diagnosis changed from Anorexia Nervosa to Chronic and Enduring Anorexia Nervosa and my doctors deemed me as good as dead, slapped the Mental Health act on me (on my 28th birthday mind you) and told my parents to give up, stop wasting their time, I was incurable and to say good bye.. Luckily for me they did not. Fast forward to now and I am thriving, I am ALIVE. But really alive. It is still a constant battle but I have almost won and proven everybody wrong. After 16 years, I can sit here and say I have recovered from what I and many others declared I could not.

Something I have ALWAYS wanted to do was a triathlon but I have always been far to unwell and medically unstable to do so... BUT not anymore. SO on the 15th of March I will be taking part in the Mooloolaba sprint triathlon and raising money for an organisation that is very dear to me and that I am so grateful to have found, because I truly believe they helped to save my life- EndED, a local Sunshine Coast charity dedicated to providing Hope and support for Eating Disorder sufferers and carers a like. They also provide vital education for the general public, as there is not nearly enough knowledge surrounding this completely misunderstood and rife illness. Eating Disorders are the number one killer of life amongst ALL psychiatric illnesses, and this needs to change.

SO please if you can donate so that they can continue their extremely important work. If you are around on the day- I will need all the support and cheering that I can get, so please come along and do so.

Thanks! (Low key freaking out about the bike leg!)
