Trevor and Janie's Dream Backyard

Donation protected
When Trevor died he left a lasting legacy. He touched so many people in his life, through his work, through his family, through his marriage to Janie and through Joe and Jasper, the two beautiful boys they brought into this world. It was Trevor's dream to put a pool and outdoor kitchen in the backyard of their Mountain Creek home, and work started on it prior to him losing his fight for life.

Spending time with Janie in the week after Trevor's funeral, watching her deal with the tradesmen, hearing her concerns over the cost of it all I really felt the urge to do something to help ease the financial burden.

I figure if we can all chip in it will mean a lot to Janie. The work can get done, Janie, Joe and Jasper will have a beautiful backyard to spend time in and it will be a wonderful tribute to Trevor.

As this link may be shared beyond Janie and Trevor's family and friends, there will be those of you who are wondering why and how Trevor died, so I am including some background information.

Trevor was born with a poor heart, his brothers tell stories of him not being expected to live for long. As it was he outlived everyone's expectations and did so with very few people being aware of his condition. In the end though it got the  better of him and he spent the last year of his life in and out of hospital while waiting for a heart transplant. Janie says he was the strongest man she knew and he was so very determined to survive. In the end he didn't make it, the much needed heart transplant didn't come soon enough. It came as a shock to everyone, including Trevor himself. His strength, determination, perserverance and positivity had everyone believing he would come out the other side of it all, with a new heart and new found lease on life. He was going to swim in the new pool with his boys, and cook up a storm on the new outdoor kitchen.

This is a big part of the legacy Trevor leaves - strength, determination, perserverance and positivity in the face of adversity.  We can all take something from that. I think we can all take something away about organ donation too, and how big a change we can each bring to the world, to the hopes and dreams of others and their families by signing up to be an organ donor.

Even if you are not in a position to donate money to this campaign please consider having a conversation about organ donation with your loved ones. I can't help but think that Trevor would be honoured to have that as his legacy.  Thank you. ❤️ ❤️
