The Campaign for Graduate School: China Bound!
Greetings Family and Friends,
I am THRILLED to share that I will be heading back to China (where I spent two life-changing years as an English Language Instructor) this coming September to pursue my Masters degree! Recently, I was accepted into one of China's most prestigious schools, Tsinghua University in Beijing, where I would pursue a Masters in Public Administration focused on International Development. This program is aligned with advancing my personal and professional goals as an ambassador of U.S.-China relations...and I need your SUPPORT in helping me raise the money to achieve this dream!
Before I share more information on what these funds will be used for, allow me to give you a bit of insight into my journey. As a native of Chicago, Illinois, I was raised in a low-income neighborhood where opportunities to flourish were oftentimes limited. Though my immediate environment was plagued by violence and racial disparities, my parents made it their utmost priority to ensure that my siblings and I succeeded academically. While exposure to such surroundings challenged me, I knew that my value as a student dedicated to scholastic achievement was worth fighting for. Education was my only true outlet as I worked tirelessly to secure several scholarships that afforded me the opportunity to pursue my undergraduate studies at DePaul University. Fast-forward 4 years and 26 countries later, I am now ready to undertake my GREATEST international endeavor yet!
What truly INSPIRES me most about launching “The Campaign for Graduate School: China Bound!” is my unrelenting passion for global citizenship as I continue to push the boundaries of traditional education. This opportunity would allow me to become a catalyst for empowering youth from underprivileged backgrounds to acquire an education beyond the borders of their home countries.
Your support associated with this unique graduate program will help me cover expenses including:
· Tuition and Fees
· Room and Board
· Books
· Student Visa Processing
· Flights to and from China
I know that this is a large amount of money to ask for, however I am stepping out on faith to pursue my dream and unwilling to let this promising opportunity slip away. Because of my amazing global network of family and friends, I know you can help me make this happen.
