Trennon Giles Open Heart Surgery

Hello all,

Chad here. In the last 24 hours my younger brother, Colby and his family received some rather frightening & devastating news. Their 2 month old son, Trennon was having some difficulty breathing so they took him to Urgent Care.  The Dr. Quickly realized what was happening and transferred them to the Emergency room at Primary Children's Hospital. There, they learned that their handsome and vivacious little boy will need open heart surgery within the next week. He has severe Aortic Coarctation with a Bicuspid Aortic Valve, as well as several Apical muscular Ventricular Septal Defects and will be undergoing surgery to correct these issues with an Aortic Arch Reconstruction. While the treatment is often successful, the condition requires life long follow up. This is a huge expense that they were not expecting. They’re a proud and hardworking family, each parent working two jobs to support their 4 incredible children. Asking for help isn’t easy.


I’ve set up this Go Fund Me page to help them with finances for all the costs that are already piling up. The hospital that their son is at isn’t near their home. They’re looking at several weeks in the NICU. Ronald McDonald House is currently full and my brother and his wife are trying to secure short term housing to stay near the hospital. 



Funds received will go towards mounting hospital bills, out of pocket expenses, their large insurance deductible, housing costs near the hospital, travel costs, child care for their other children during this difficult time, a buffer for downtime from lost work/wages and all of the other unexpected things that add up in these scenarios. 



My brother and his family have had a very rough run the last year. Christmas marked one year since they lost their son Kodee, and this January marked a year since my brother lost his father Joe. Now they are beginning a battle for their new baby Trennon. It’s so much more grief and stress than any one family should bear. I’d love to ease their financial burdens as much as possible in hopes of taking a few things off their plate and allowing them to focus on getting Trennon the surgery he needs and the best care possible.
