Trek with Tenley
Donation protected
Tenley was finally APPROVED AND SCHEDULED for a life altering/life improving surgery! Most or all of you know Tenley has cerebral palsy. It's a very mild case and it's considered spastic diplegic. There is a doctor (Dr. TS Park) in St. Louis Missouri that will be performing a procedure called selective dorsal rhizotomy on her on August 2nd. He is the pioneer of this less invasive approach and has done thousands of these! Tenley and her amazing family will spend around a week in the hospital then come home to intensive therapy 5 days per week for at least 6 months. Please keep her in your prayers in the coming weeks as they prepare her for this next adventure. The family is nervous, but so excited for what this procedure can offer her, which is hopefully a life free of pain from the spacticity and the ability to walk without falling. Insurance will probably be covering it all for the most part. The expenses will come from some loss of work, insurance co pays, physical therapy sessions above and beyond what insurance will cover, travel expenses, hotels, flights back for check ups ect. Any help is welcomed and greatly appreciated.
