The Tree of Health Center  (TTOHC) is a Natural and Spiritual Healthcare Center, providing services and classes to evolve the spirit, mind & body.  

Seven years ago, two friends combined their medical and metaphysical backgrounds to create a holistic health oasis in Sussex County New Jersey.

The beginnings were humble for Linda Mitchell and Debra Hollinrake. They started The Tree of Health Center (TTOHC) in June 2012 with $500, a Buddha statue, a massage table, a desk, and a dream.

But the impact of this small center has been mighty. It now works with ten other holistic practitioners, from hypnotherapists to grief counselors to shamans. And it has treated more than 500 clients—all in its three-room, 650-square-foot space on Newton Sparta Road.


What Linda and Debra and their team do is essential:

*  They pick up where conventional medicine often leaves off.

*  They help people break negative stress cycles in their minds and bodies—cycles that, unchecked, lead to disease and mental anguish.

*  They treat people with conditions, such as neuropathy, digestive problems, migraines, concussions, cerebral palsy, Group B strep infections, PTSD, stress disorders and phobias.

 
The Tree of Health Center’s mission is focused: It is a convenient place where people pivot their lives onto a more healthful, happy path. There are no hoops to jump through, no hassle. Just help.

Unlike many wellness centers, The Tree of Health Center uses a collaborative—not corporate—model of care. While it needs and cherishes its paying customers, Linda has been known to trade a massage for a meatloaf. And Debra has bartered her services for administrative support.
 

It’s time for the two friends to grow the dream. But since it serves the community, it needs the community’s support.

Linda and Debra are expanding in their current space by adding an additional treatment room and purchasing the space outright from the landlord. This way the Tree of Health Center can be modified and updated to fit into the welcoming, holistic healing space it is meant to be.  

When the space becomes theirs, updates are needed to make sure that The Tree of Health Center can accommodate their customers and clients in the best possible way. 


Due to the age of the space and in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the following upgrades are necessary:

     ~  Air Purification System (2) units:  $1,200

     ~ Handheld UV Light Sanitizers: $320

     ~  Rip up old rugs and install new flooring: $3,000

     ~  Install a handicap accessible ramp for our entrance: $2,000

     ~  Renovation items such as paint, spackle, minor repairs: $3,500

     ~ Soundproof doors for each room (3): $1,200

     ~ Electrical Massage Table: $5,000

     ~ Screen doors for front and back entrance as well as screens for windows: $300

     ~ New windows: $2,000

·         THE BUILDING & EQUIPMENT FUND to upgrade the new space—air-filtration and soundproofing treatment and classrooms and any necessary renovations to accommodation the space for natural healing and well-being; required equipment includes an electric massage table, warming cabinet for towels, stones and oils, lass-enclosed storage cabinets for the treatment rooms, display cases for main room, tables, comfortable classroom chairs.

 

·         THE WELLNESS FUND to support initial and maintenance therapies for under served populations, such as women in unhealthy relationship cycles, veterans with PTSD, new mothers, hospice patients, anxious or troubled teens, and homeless people, all referred to The Tree of Health Center by local nonprofits;

 

·         THE RESEARCH FUND to facilitate Tree of Health participation in natural medicine research studies.
