Treatment for Travis’ Kyphosis

Donation protected
I'm making a Go-Fund-Me account for my older brother Travis McCullough. Travis and his girlfriend, Shelly, have had the dream of moving to Montana and began that adventure several months back. They saved enough to begin a travel adventure and relocation to the Missoula area in Montana.

Travis was diagnosed with Scoliosis as a child and has lived with the discomfort and pain for most of his life. All of the medical doctors that he visited said the same thing, “there is nothing we can do”.

His work as a mechanic put him on his feet and he has always been able to stretch and orient himself to relieve some of the pain and discomfort. But what he was unaware of was he also suffers from Scheuermann’s disease which had developed into a severe case of Kyphosis.

During his travelling he was seated driving for a great deal of time and the pain and discomfort increased dramatically. Their trip has been limited to short hikes and a some camping because the pain and discomfort had increased to the point that he couldn’t do the things they planned. He was feeling pretty hopeless and feared living a life with this much pain at a young age of 28. If you know Travis you know that he has always been and adventurer and outdoors person.

Fortunately Shelly found a clinic near their location outside of Denver. It is called Rhino Scoliosis and is run by Dr. Jane Leavell, DC. When Travis came to her he had no idea of the Kyphosis issue and how bad it really was. During his consultation with Dr. Jane he learned about the Kyphosis and that his back hunched at a 78 degree roll, which is severe. His chest cavity is under pressure and he has a greatly reduced lung capacity. This can also lead to cardiac issues if left untreated. If left untreated Travis will become disabled and not have the opportunity to do the things he and Shelly have dreamed about doing.

But Dr. Jane has given him new hope. She has talked with Travis, Shelly and my dad and has assured them that Travis will find pain relief on his first day of treatments. Dr. Jane has developed over many years of hard work, tools and techniques to help those that suffer from Scoliosis and Kyphosis. Although there is no cure and surgery is highly risky, her Chiropractic techniques will help correct his 2 curvatures to the point that he will lead a normal life. The clinical treatment lasts 5 days with at least 6 hours a day of work. Travis will walk away a new person and have both physical tools and knowledge to maintain his back functioning more normally than ever.

The treatment is not covered under insurance and does have a price tag beyond their ability. Currently my mom and dad are covering the costs, but if you know my brother, he will not rest until he has repaid every penny.

If you can support his cost of treatment our whole family would be extremely grateful.
