Treatment For My Father

First, let me first tell you about my dad. His name is Keith, he's 46 years old, and lives in Ohio. He is married to my step mom Michelle and has four children, which include me, my step brother Corey, my sister Alyssa, and my younger brother Connor. He also has three grandchildren, which include my children, Aria, Nolan, and Harlow. My father has always been a hardworking, give the shirt off his back, never asks for anything kind of guy. Ever since I was little, I was always a daddy's girl and looked up to my dad no matter what. He was always there for me, and now it's time for me to be there for him.
About six months ago my father started developing gastrointestinal problems, as well as having issues with his bowels. At first, he thought he was experiencing hemorrhoids and didn't seek medical attention right away. A few months go by and his symptoms progressively get worse and he develops new ones as well. He made an appointment to see his doctor to get a physical and discuss his symptoms. That's when they decided to do a colonoscopy and found adenomatous polyps in his intestines. Adenomatous polyps (adenomas) of the colon and rectum are benign (noncancerous) growths, but may be precursor lesions to colorectal cancer. Polyps greater than one centimeter in diameter are associated with a greater risk of cancer. If polyps are not removed, they continue to grow and can become cancerous. Unfortunately, they were unable to take a sample of the polyps during his colonoscopy, thus unable to test to see if they were cancerous or not. He was then referred to a gastroenterologist for another colonoscopy and to gather tissue sample for a biopsy. In the meantime, my father lost his job, due to his ongoing symptoms and gastro problems (being late to work, missing work, in the restroom for a certain amount of time, etc). Since losing his job, he doesn't have health insurance to cover doctor costs, but is currently looking for another job. Even if he were to get another job right now, it can take up to 90 days for the benefits to start...and right now time is of the essence. If he doesn't get the polyps tested as soon as possible, (as well as get them surgically removed) the problem is only going to get worse and we will never know if they're cancerous or not. Not to mention, he is in extreme amounts of pain because of the polyps. Symptoms of colon polyps include blood in the stool, changes in bowel patterns (like diarrhea or constipation), abdominal pain, weight loss, and/or fatigue. Since he has no insurance right now, that's where you guys come into place. Our family is extremely small and I can only help my father as much as I'm able to financially (no one ever plans for this kind of thing and if I knew this would happen, I would definitely have all the means financially to help my father). When I say that this is his last resort, this is really his last resort, as well as mine. Anything donated will help out my father TREMENDOUSLY, as far as covering his medical costs. This includes being seen by the colon specialist, 2nd colonoscopy, biopsy, and surgery. My father is the type to NEVER, ever ask anyone for help and he was very reluctant for me to set this go fund me account up for him. I believe in the power of the Internet and if I can help out my father in any way, I will do it. Again, anything donated is appreciated so much and everything will go directly to my father so that he can get the medical attention and resources that he needs.
