Every 45 seconds a child enters the US Foster Care system.
They arrive with little to nothing. A few clothes. No toys...what little they do arrive with is normally contained in a trash bag.
Threads of Change believe these children deserve better.
We operate a foster care closet in Berks County where Foster Parents can access free clothes, toys, books and child care equipment.
Our dream is to open a store where Foster Children can 'shop' (free of charge) and choose their own toys and clothes.
Threads of Change was established in 2017 and served over 175 foster children in it's first year. Threads is 100% volunteer run. It was created by and is run by foster families.

In 2018 our goal is to become an official national non profit (we are currently a PA non profit but to continue to grow we need to obtain IRS tax except status) and move into a permenant location.
Donations will be used to pay for:
$600 IRS Filing Fee to obtain tax except status (DONE!)
$500 General Liability insurance
$390 Shelving units for additional locker
$240 Storage totes for new locker
$120 Folding tables for distribution of items
We cannot wait to see where 2018 takes us and how many children we can serve. #BeTheChange
