Meet Travis. Our silly, passionate, empathetic, fiercely loyal, Travis. We all have a "Travis" in our lives. Someone who will give you the shirt off their back. Someone who will drop everything to be at your side. Someone who keeps coming back. The person you want with you for the fun and the not so fun. We all have a "Travis"... and ours is in crisis.
On Friday July 2nd, Travis was shot 6 times in the leg, arm, chest and abdomen on the front lawn of his girlfriend's home by an unknown shooter. Travis was unarmed and taking a lunch break while helping his friend get settled into her new home. The critical injuries resulted in the loss of his pancreas, spleen, kidney, and a portion of intestines and bowels. He was also shot in his dominant elbow and twice in his leg. One of the bullets currently sits millimeters from his spine.
The unknown assailant is still out there. We don't believe Travis knew the shooter.
Our Travis leads a peaceful life. He does not have enemies. He is a respectable, hard working, loving man who also happens to be tattooed. When you meet him, the rough exterior quickly melts and you see his authentic, silly self immediately.
Travis needs help. We don't know what the road ahead looks like for him, but we do know that it will be long and difficult and expensive. All fundraising monies will go directly to helping Travis get back on his feet when he's released from the hospital.
