Traveling North America in a converted van

Hello I have been out of a job since covid and have yet to get approved for unemployment, I currently have a mini van that needs engine work (not sure what, I forgot what the mechanic said) but I’ve always wanted to convert a van to live in so I could go off the grid and travel around the United States. Living in the modern world is full of anxiety and my lust to live out of a van and experience raw life is becoming too much, if you could please help me achieve my dream I would greatly appreciate it
