Travel To Africa for Coffee Education

Hello everybody.

Some of you may know me, some of you don't. My name is Phillip White and I am a Coffee Professional here in Los Angeles, California. Recently after many interviews I was chosen by CxffeeBlack to participate in the Barista Exchange Program. This program will be sending four Baristas of African Descent to Ethiopia and Rwanda to further continue learning about coffee and learn about the origin of coffee at the "one true single origin." CxffeeBlack is providing coverages for the cost of airfare to and from Africa, lodging, some meals, and some entertainment. This trip is the opportunity of a lifetime and I am humbled to have qualified. Unfortunately as an everyday working Barista I am unable to cover the costs of airfare to and from Washinton D.C., Visa costs, and money to actually have during the trip. This trip is going to be a little bit more than 2 weeks long which means I will not be making any money during those 2 weeks.

This is the chance of a life time to not only go to origin but to become educated on the original coffee culture and learn more about the plant that brings our industry together. It would be amazing to get the funds for this trip and continue to etch out a spot in the coffee industry for myself and others that look like me.
