Travel safety bed for autistic son

James is our beautiful nearly 4 year old son. He has been diagnosed with autism but also has a significant delay meaning day to day life is very challenging.
He cannot understand what we verbally say but also cannot understand PECS. PECS is communicating using pictures. He has very high sensory needs so he sensory seeks all day and if not in a safe enclosed space then also through the night. It doesn’t matter how much he sensory seeks if he does not have a safe enclosed place to sleep he cannot rest. He will run around and around until early hours of the morning if he doesn’t have a safe enclosed space to sleep.
Safety travel beds do not come cheap like a lot of disability equipment and toys. They come with a big price tag. I felt bad making this go fund me but I had friends and family who said that I should go ahead and do it.
We need one for holidays and for respite care. When we do try to make some family memories James cannot rest when we go away when he doesn’t have a safe enclosed space which mean he does not sleep and it’s not just the sleep he is at risk because he has no danger awareness. No matter how safe you think an area may be we always say it has to be James proof instead of baby proof as it has to be even safer for him.
James has a beautiful big sister called Lily and she misses out on much needed family time because we cannot go to certain places without having a safety enclosed space for James.
Because of his sensory needs he wouldn’t just run around he climbs, puts inedible things in his mouth, lick things, throws things and can work out how to escape quite easily.
Any small donations would be greatly appreciated which means we would be able to get respite care if we needed and we would be able to go on more family holidays that would go a lot more smoothly because we would know our son would be safe and he will get some sleep which is so important. We see such a change in him when he has sleep. With no sleep this is when it could cause him to get very stressed and frustrated which isn’t fair on him.
