Needing Donations for New Business!

Greetings from the beautiful state of New York! As many of you know, I was born in the East coast and lived in the West (Tulsa, OK & Dallas, TX) for most of my teenage and adult life. I fell in love and moved to Elmira, New York and am now also in love with 2 wonderful boys, our home and this stunning state. While I would never trade my time in Tulsa and Dallas because I have family, friends and so many fun memories from living there, I have found that I am a 4 Seasons/East Coast person at heart.
I have had a very fulfilling career in Exhibit Sales and have traveled the globe. However, I am weary of the corporate grind, life on the road and am pursuing a new opportunity. On a whim, I sent my resume to a company called Travel Host. They are a nation-wide publication company that has been in the business of promoting local tourism since 1967. I have been offered a chance to be the first publisher to promote tourism and start a Travel Host Magazine for Central New York. It is a fabulous opportunity and we are working hard to make this happen as it will ultimately be a family business we can pass on to the boys.
My territory will begin with 9 counties in the Southern Central New York area from Steuben county to Otsego. These are my counties for distribution though I can gain advertisers from any company in the entire state. In time, I will be able to expand to other territories of the state after I get this first one established. Of course, my goal is the entire state!Check out the video for some sights from my territory....it is a beautiful part of the world!
I would be the Publisher and sole proprietor with the backing and support of Travel Host They do all of the back of the house stuff including printing of the magazine, research for my advertisers, creative for ads if needed, development of websites for my territory and each of my advertisers. It is a proven model and after weeks of research and conversations with other publishers, we know this to be a sound endeavor and are ready to take the plunge. Eventually, Doug will have a territory and we plan to start the boys (if they want) with the job of distributing the magazines. As I have many college towns, we will want to use their young prospective to help with attractions geared to students as well having them help us with our social media campaigns.
We are extremely excited and have worked hard to make this happen but need some assistance with the start-up capital.
I have been with working with a great guy at the Small Business Development Council for the state of New York to develop a solid business and start-up plan. His name is Brian and he has been helping small businesses in New York for 40 years. He also knows the Travel Host brand, understands the concept, believes in me, appreciates that my business will not just benefit me and my family but will also bring in tourism revenue to the state.
Brian from the SBDC has helped me secure GAP funding which is a grant for $50K and is supporting me with a small business loan for another $50K. However, we do have to come up with some initial investment money which is why we are reaching out for your help. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
