For the past 10 months, we have been battling my wife's stage 4 ovarian cancer. It began with sharp stomach pains that sent us to the emergency room, where we learned the cancer had been growing and spreading. A day later, she was diagnosed. Since then, we have gone from hearing what doctors could do to hearing what they might be willing to try. 
 
 
 On top of the cancer, my wife has been dealing with serious wound-healing problems connected to a hernia operation from more than a decade ago. That surgery left a wound that would not close, and attempts to heal it led to a second wound that also will not clot or heal. She has been seen and evaluated by many surgeons in South Carolina, and multiple surgeons have deemed her inoperable. The time it took to reach those decisions delayed treatment, and she has deteriorated during that time. She is now in her second round of chemo, and the last 30 days have been especially hard. 
 
 
 This illness has changed every part of our lives. We were once a high-paced household, and my wife was the driving force behind a business she built from cleaning into a larger service business. Now that business is down to one customer. Our 17-year-old daughter, with help from her older sister, is doing what they can to keep it going, but our income has been reduced dramatically. 
 
 
 We are now seeking a new door to open. We are traveling to Baltimore on Friday 8/14 for an evaluation for HIPEC treatment. If she is approved, we will then face a six-week wait before treatment can begin. We are asking for help with the travel, lodging, and medical expenses that insurance will not cover as we make these trips and pursue care outside South Carolina. 
 
 
 I am handling this fundraiser on my wife's behalf because I want to do everything I can to help her have the best possible medical care. Any donation or share would mean so much to our family as we travel for this evaluation and try to move forward with hope. Thank you for standing with us.
