Travel Expenses To See My Mom

Donazione protetta
The year 2020 has been ROUGH!

My saint of a mother moved back to Texas in May after spending 25 years in Oregon. She wanted to be closer to her family, as she had spent over the last two decades raising my siblings and myself without their support. I think that was the hardest goodbye I've ever had to say in my life...

In October, my mom contracted COVID-19 and was in the hospital for almost two weeks. Her oxygen levels were low,  needed help will basic needs (toileting, bathing, eating, etc), and didn't even have the strength to get into her own bed. Both of my siblings, luckily, were both there to help her.

To add the cherry on top, my mom had a stroke on Wednesday (11/25/2020). The hospital staff found a clot in her brain. My youngest brother had less than ten minutes to make the decision to transport her to a hospital 4+ hours away and her potentially dying mid-transport, or try an experimental drug for clots with a high success rate, but a low chance of her bleeding out. Thankfully, the drug was successful. After being transported to St Luke in Houston, they discovered MORE clots in her lungs... The amazing staff at the hospital have been able to remove the clots, but it's still very scary.

Tl;dr, life is short. I don't know what the future holds. But I do know now more than ever, if you love someone, tell them. And that's what I want to do. I need help raising funds for a plane ticket to go see my mom. If you can donate anything, even just a couple of dollars, it would mean more to me than I can ever say. Thank you.
