La batalla contra el cáncer de nuestra madre apenas comienza. Yolanda Herrera, mejor conocida por muchos como Yoli, ha sido una madre ejemplar y una psicóloga que ha dedicado su vida a ayudar a quien más lo necesita, bien sea a través de su profesión o a través de un sabio consejo. Los que la conocen, saben lo importante que es nuestra madre en la familia. Siendo la mayor de cinco hermanos, ha tomado un rol imprescindible en mantener nuestra familia cohesionada ante muchas dificultades. Entre sus amigos Yoli es conocida como la persona que siempre está ahí, brindando compañía y afecto a todos por igual. Sin embargo, ahora es ella quien necesita de la ayuda y apoyo de los demás para luchar por su salud.
Para aquellos que no lo saben, el día 22 de febrero fuimos sorprendidos cuando nuestra mamá ingresó de emergencia a la Clínica Metropolitana en Caracas y fue diagnosticada con un tumor cerebral. Para nosotros, sus hijos y familiares, fue un momento muy difícil de asimilar ya que mi mamá siempre ha gozado de excelente salud. Uno nunca imagina pasar por algo así, y menos pensar que una persona que uno tanto quiere tenga que atravesar esta terrible situación. Afortunadamente, nuestra madre siempre se ha caracterizado por ser una persona muy positiva y llena de fe. El 28 de febrero fue operada y se logró reducir el tumor en un 80% dejando un 20% que no se pudo remover por estar ubicado en la parte del cerebro encargada de las funciones motoras. En estos momentos nos toca a nosotros, sus hijos, familiares, y amigos, mantenernos positivos para Yoli, brindándole todo el apoyo que merece en esta difícil etapa. Luchar junto a ella se ha convertido en nuestra prioridad para que cumpla con el tratamiento adecuado y podamos erradicar en un 100% el tumor que aún se encuentra en su cerebro.
Como todos saben, la situación económica y de salud en Venezuela hace que prácticamente sea imposible conseguir los medicamentos indicados para combatir el tumor. Yoli, está dispuesta a continuar luchando por su vida y seguir cumpliendo sus sueños. Con un gran ímpetu por seguir ayudando a los demás, a través de su profesión y fuera de ella, ahora Yoli y su familia necesitamos del apoyo incondicional de todos ustedes para costear su tratamiento contra el cáncer. Los fondos recolectados en esta campaña serán usados para comprar el tratamiento oncologico requerido asi como costear los mejores especialistas en el caso. Las donaciones que no se usen para el tratamiento de mi mamá serán donadas a otras personas que requieran fondos para una causa similar.
Estaríamos profundamente agradecidos por su apoyo y buenas energías por las que estamos seguros que Yoli saldrá adelante muy pronto con salud y alegría. My mother’s battle against cancer has just begun. Yolanda Herrera, better known by many as Yoli, has been an exemplary mother and a passionate psychologist dedicated to helping those who need it the most through her profession and personal advice. Being the oldest of five siblings she has always been characterized as the pillar of our family and has taken an indispensable role in keeping us cohesive in the face of many difficulties. Among her friends, Yoli is also known as the person who is always providing company and affection to everyone. In this instance, she is the one who needs the help and support of others to fight for her health.
For those who do not know, on February 22nd, we were surprised when our mother entered the Metropolitan Clinic in Caracas and was diagnosed with a brain tumor. For us, her children and relatives, receiving this diagnosis was very difficult. You never imagine going through something like that, and are even less prepared to see your mom go through that process, especially when she has always enjoyed a healthy and happy lifestyle. Fortunately, our mother is a very positive person and full of faith. On February 28 she had surgery and the tumor was reduced by 80%. We still have to fight the portion of the tumor that could not be removed because it is in the part of the brain responsible for motor functions. At this time, it is up to us to stay positive for our mother and fight with her so that we can comply with the appropriate treatment and eradicate 100% of the tumor that is still in her brain.
As everyone knows, because of the economic and health situation in Venezuela, it is impossible to get the drugs prescribed for her tumor. Yoli is willing to fight to continue with her life and fulfill her dreams. To enable her to continue helping others through her profession and enjoying her life, Yoli and all of her family members would be grateful for any contribution you can make towards the cost of her cancer treatment. The money collected will be spent in purchasing the required treatment for her diagnosis. Additionally, it will be invested in paying the most capable specialist in Venezuela. The remaining funds will be donated to other people facing the same health situation.
