For those of you that don't know me.. My name is Sonia.. I'm 54.. And I need your help. I spent my life Caring for others, in group homes and In Residences. My dedication to my job caused me to develop high blood pressure which damaged my kidneys. I have been in the transplant list for 5 years now.. During that time my kidneys stopped working.. And I began hemodialysis 3 times a week. My center is in Ephrata, which is a 44 mile round trip and the gas money is crushing. Due to my multiple health problems, I am dependant on money from Social Security.
My biggest problem is to remain on the transplant list I need to show I have enough money for my anti-rejection medication and stable transportation to and from Harrisburg twice a week after my transplant. I am advised by my transplant coordinator that I need $2,500 in my possession to be considered for transplant or I will be removed from the list on March 31st. Something I do not wish for since it has been 5 years already. Any amount of money you can spare will be greatly appreciated!! May God bless you and give you many blessings.
