Heart & Kidney Transplant

I am in need of a heart/kidney transplant. In 2016 I underwent 2 days worth of surgery and the outcome was needing an LVAD due to heart failure. The  LVAD was surgically implanted and is a battery operated, mechanical pump that helps the left ventricle pump blood to the rest of the body.  The surgery and recovery was very intensive and I spent 3 months in the hospital recovering. My kidneys never bounced back and I am currently on dialysis. For the past 2 years I have gone 3 days a week to Davita to have dialysis but have just recently switched to peritoneal dialysis at home 7 days a week. I have been in and out of the hospital due to my LVAD and kidney issues. Meanwhile I have had to travel to different hospitals to get evaluated to get listed for a dual transplant: kidney and heart.  In September of 2017, they found cancer in my kidney and had to remove one of my kidneys. My surgery was successful and I am now in a waiting period before being able to be listed for the transplants.  The costs of traveling, hospital stays, medicines and devices more than exceeds our insurance reimbursements and we are looking for help during this difficult time. We are hopeful that I can get listed for a transplant in 2019 but know I have a long road ahead of me.
