Hi there! My name is Rowan, I’m a 24-year-old trans-masc bean navigating life, love, and identity alongside my incredible partner, a 28-year-old trans-fem bean who I’m lucky enough to call my wife. We’re both at a point in our lives where we’re finally ready, and deeply hoping, to begin medically transitioning in the ways that align with who we are.

Transitioning isn’t just about physical changes; it’s about finally feeling safe, seen, and whole in our own bodies. It’s about being able to look in the mirror and recognize ourselves, not the version the world expected, but the one that feels right in our hearts. It’s about living without the constant ache of dysphoria and being able to exist more freely, authentically, and joyfully.

For me, top surgery is something I’ve wanted for years. Binding has been part of my daily routine, but it’s uncomfortable, limiting, and takes a toll over time, physically and mentally. The thought of waking up without my chesticles (lol) and being able to breathe deeply, move freely, and exist in my body without that extra layer of dysphoria… it’s honestly hard to describe how life-changing that would be. Just putting on a shirt without a binder would be huge.

As for my wife, she’s dreaming of restarting estrogen and beginning her own journey toward femininity. She’s incredibly strong and beautiful, and I see her for who she is every single day — but I know how hard it is for her to not see that same version of herself reflected back in the mirror. Estrogen, and eventually other gender-affirming steps like laser hair removal and maybe surgeries in the future, would help her feel more aligned with the woman she’s always been inside. It’s about reclaiming her body and stepping into the fullness of her identity.

We’ve both faced so many barriers, from financial struggles to lack of access to proper healthcare, but we’ve always tried to keep moving forward with love and hope. Now, we’re reaching out in the hopes of finding some support as we take these first big steps into our transitions. Whether it’s helping us fund our care, sharing our story, or even just sending love our way — it all makes a difference.

Thanks for taking the time to read about our little queer love story. We’re so grateful for any support or kindness as we move closer to living as our full, authentic selves.
