The Good: After years of trying and failing, I was accepted to a PhD program starting Fall 2019! I have wanted to be a professor for my entire adult life, and finally have the chance with a dual JD/PhD program.

The Bad: The school is right in the middle of San Francisco, which means I'm going to be living in the city with the most expensive real estate in the US.

The Ugly: Right now, in spite of my best efforts, I have no home and no job. I'm living in my car outside of my old workplace.

The Solution: Embrace the house-free nature of being! I've applied for student loans, but I won't get disbursement for three more months. I'm trying not to get buried in student debt, and I know that I can live in a small or medium-sized RV for a long time.

I have all of the logistics figured out. I know where I'm going to park it, I know how to dump and how to get power, I know the parking laws and culture in the Bay Area. I have done the research and know that a small to medium Class A, Class C, or large Class B RV will be perfect for my modest needs. I can save as much as $60,000 in rent and utilities ($1000/m, which is pretty cheap for the Bay, for five years) by living in an RV.

Please help me realize this goal of becoming a full-bore academic, by helping me gain some measure of independence from this hellscape that is market-rate housing in the Bay.
