Transit based Community CO-OP In Colorado

Times are tough for all of us, the news blaring away at some new emergency, talking heads that fight each other rather than focusing on solving the bigger issues, and the everyday dread of isolation and separation from our loved ones. It’s becoming harder and harder to have hope for the future. but there are better times ahead I can promise you that, the storm will clear and the sun will return but until then im asking for your help. Lakewood Red Car is a for-profit CO-OP focused on providing multiple transit choices for residents in the western Denver metro area. I started this company back in 2015 in my senior year of high school and slowly but surely without any outside monetary investment Lakewood Red Car became a company with 1 bus 4 stops with 2 stops having future infrastructure improvement plans and after 5 years of blood sweat and plenty of tears we were set to open our main bus line from Near Belmar shopping center to Red Rocks amphitheater for the 2020 concert season, that was until the state shutdown ever since we have limped along covering our debts month to month and building a plan for a 2021 rebound. Now we are not a company big enough to get state funds mind you, this entire endeavor has been funded bit by bit out of my own pocket, and with the state of the economy our plans to open up to investors have been mothballed but this company is still striving to achieve its goals to provide multiple transit options that work with the communities they serve rather than steamrolling through providing a less than adequate service and then taking that community to death. That’s why I write these words and hand this letter out to you now. For the 2021 Red Rocks concert season, our goal is to operate a daily scheduled bus service from Lakewood to Red Rocks amphitheater via West Alameda and the C-470 frontage road with buses departing from each terminus station every 30 minutes at a cost of $8 dollars round trip to do this we need outside investment weather it is Money, Time or any other means possible, We need a total of $5,800 to cover the cost of two new station infrastructure improvement programs (900) for each station, our south Owens stop and a stop near Ballmer peak distillery; and to cover the state insurance and filing fees (4,000) once those are covered we can start to operate this service if you can invest in any monetarily way but you are still interested in this idea please contact us by email we are always looking for any involvement from the community. If you hope for a day of easy mobility throughout your city, a bigger broader sense of community passed the boundaries of our own neighborhoods we are always looking for more team members who share our ideas and goals, right now it is just my friend in Leadville my dog and I but we have agreed that hard work reaps hard rewards so anyone who invests time or money into our organization will receive a lifetime pass on all Lakewood Redcar passenger services this does not just apply to our services from Belmar to the Red Rocks Amphitheater but any and all public transportation routes weather they may be a bus, trolleybus light rail or commuter rail we may ad during the life of the pass holder. Anyone who invests one hundred dollars or more will also be made CO-OP members: But in the end, anything helps just even sharing our flyer on social media or with friends and family helps out in droves, We never thought of running this company just for us we started this because we believe a community who invests in public transportation invests in the future, there are no words I can write on the Idea of meeting others who share this philosophy.
