Training Programmes for HIV+ Single Mothers

HIV/AIDS positive people face extreme high stigma in Uganda especially women who are made to feel outcasts, not only from their community but usually are also rejected by their husbands left to provide for themselves and their families alone.
There are over 1.3 million people living with HIV in Uganda with the majority being women.
Due to communities not being educated on HIV/AIDS often these women face discrimination and backlash from their own communities leaving them with no where to turn for help. Fellow Ugandans are frightened to hire them due to stigma and fear of being exposed to HIV because of misinformation and lack of facts.
All these woman want to do is to provide for themselves and their families but this can be difficult due to not having an education background and therefore lacking in key skills such as writing, reading etc that could help them gain employment.
Our aim is to train these women and also provide them with business start up opportunities.
