I have some exciting news to share with you!
I have felt called and have desired to go into ministry as a career for a few years now. To this end, I've completed some internships with my church but have recently been looking for more specific training.
I now have an opportunity to complete a counseling training course with the Allender Center in Seattle, WA. This is a Christian training center within The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology (https://theallendercenter.org/offerings/trainings/training-certificate-level-one/). A good friend told me about this program and I was amazed at how closely this training lines up with my life goals for ministry. When I first applied for this year’s course I was informed the program was full, however, two weeks ago I was notified there was an opening.
I prayed, talked with family and friends, and completed my application. Today, I was accepted. The total cost of this training is $5650 plus books, travel, and housing. The tuition is to be paid over four installments due on September 13, 2019, November 1, 2019, January 1, 2020, and March 1, 2020.
I am required to fly to Seattle for a long weekend of classroom training a total of 4 times over the next few months. In between classroom sessions in Seattle I will have homework, book reading, and papers to write.
Since I would like to start college next year, I really wanted to do this program this year and am grateful for this opportunity. I knew this would all be a step of faith, especially towards funding. The cool thing is the Allender training credits will transfer towards a degree program in a counseling/ ministry field
I am trusting God for the details and funding. No matter what, I believe God has led me to this place and would appreciate your standing with me. Please pray for His continued direction and provision for all aspects of the next steps of my life. Thanks for your time and interest in reading this.
