Naomi Presume, a member of South Street Youth Center in Jamaica Plain, MA recently walked the stage of Edward M. Kennedy Academy as a high school graduate this past Thursday June 8th 2017 and is enrolling into Salem State University as an Occupational Therapy Major in the fall. Naomi has an infectious personality that can put a smile on anyone’s face and is one of the first to help others before thinking of herself. Just a few short days after receiving her high school diploma Naomi and her family were awakened by a 3-alarm fire that destroyed everything that her family has worked so hard for leaving it a total loss of over $400,000 and leaving her Mom, dad, and siblings displaced.
Naomi is such a strong young woman with a bright future and even talking to her after the event one of the first items she said she needed was clothes and sneakers for her two younger brothers as they lost everything. Always selfless, always caring, and strong willed through the toughest storm, that's Naomi.
The family is working with American Red Cross who will support them for the next couple of days with shelter in a hotel room but with this being the last day they are soon to be completely on their own. If you have the ability to help Naomi and her family it will go a long way.
