Tragedy to Triumph : The Story of Erick Buchanan

On the morning of June 23, 2019, we, the family of Erick Buchanan, received a heart clenching call that neither parents nor loved ones should ever have to answer. Our beloved Erick Buchanan, 19 year old college football player and student, was one of four victims shot in a devastating and senseless shooting in La Jolla, CA.
Although in stable condition, Erick sustained massive traumatic injuries to his mouth which will be a very intensive and costly road to recovery and care for him in the many months to come.
In the aftermath of this tragedy, we are raising funds to provide some financial relief and support to aid with this unforeseeable financial burden on Erick and his parents (Tori Morris and Ernie Buchanan). These funds will be used to cover existing and future general expenses that accumulate from such shooting incidents.
Erick attends Riverside City College where he is pursuing a career in professional football and kinesiology. We ask for your help as he fights towards full recovery and resume his educational and career pathway. Erick is such a strong soldier with a beautiful soul and we are confident that his story and strength will be a vessel of testimony to others.
Also, on behalf of Erick and our family, we would like to express our sincere appreciation for all of your warm thoughts, energies, prayers and selfless actions of kindness and generosity. Although we are still in disbelief and disheartened, we must remain hopeful and know that he will get through this one day at a time. He has an amazing circle of love and support that includes each and every one of you.
