Trafaria Bluegrass - Onde o Tejo se Faz ao Mar

 

 

1º Festival Internacional de Música Bluegrass em Portugal. 9 a 11 de Setembro de 2022

 

Quatro bandas internacionais e uma banda portuguesa de música Bluegrass vão tocar em diversos espaços sociais da vila da Trafaria, tornando-a numa vila musical, cuja ENTRADA é LIVRE e que irá tão bem acolher a comunidade local, nacional e internacional.

 

A música Bluegrass é uma forma de música popular e tradicional norte-americana, com raízes na música tradicional das montanhas Apalaches. Apesar de poder ser conotada com a música Country, as suas origens espelham muito mais as influências da música celta das ilhas britânicas e do jazz e blues afro-americanos. O festival, de entrada livre e que se realiza na vila da Trafaria de 9 a 11 de Setembro de 2022, procura mostrar este estilo de música tão alegre e convidativo e que, no entanto, é praticamente desconhecido em Portugal.

 

5 bandas irão tocar 2 vezes durante esse fim de semana. Todas as bandas tocam em diversos palcos espalhados por toda a vila. As jams, encontros musicais acústicos espontâneos, são elemento fundamental deste estilo de música pelo que são bem-vindas e incentivadas. Todos podem participar.

 

Estão previstas diversas atividades em paralelo que dão a conhecer o estilo musical e a vila da Trafaria aos seus visitantes. Nomeadamente: masterclasses, workshops de música (de diversos instrumentos) e de dança. Estão também previstas visitas guiadas à vila, animações de rua, e momentos musicais espontâneos de encontro entre os artistas convidados e os músicos locais (Jams).

1st International Bluegrass Music Festival in Portugal. September 9-11, 2022

 

Four international bands and one Portuguese band Bluegrass will play in various spaces of the village of Trafaria, making it a musical village, whose ENTRANCE is FREE and which will so well welcome the local community, as well as Portuguese and foreigners.

 

Bluegrass music is a form of popular and traditional North American music, rooted in traditional Appalachian mountain music. Although it can be connoted with Country music, its origins mirror much more the influences of Celtic music from the British Isles and African-American jazz and blues. The festival, free of entry and held in the village of Trafaria from 9 to 11 September 2022, seeks to show this style of music so cheerful and inviting and, however, practically unknown in Portugal.

 

Five bands will play twice during the weekend. All bands play on various stages throughout the village. Jams, spontaneous acoustic musical encounters, are a fundamental element of this style of music so they are welcomed and encouraged. Everyone can participate.

 

Several side activities are planned so to make known the musical style and the village of Trafaria to its visitors. Namely: masterclasses, music workshops (of various instruments) and dance. Guided tours of the village, street entertainment, and spontaneous musical moments of encounter between the invited artists and local musicians (Jams) are also planned.
