Tragedy Results in Hand Amputation

During a Memorial Day, family camping trip, things quickly turned tragic.  Jennifer Carter was a passenger in an accident in which an ATV took a turn too sharp, rolled, and landed on its side. Even though she had her seatbelt on,  her hand and arm went outside of the vehicle and was crushed under the roll bar.  What everyone thought would at most be a  broken hand turned  into a horrific, life changing event.

After a long, painful, hour or so wait in a small town hospital that does not do surgeries, a helicopter arrived and transported Jennifer to the trauma center at Harbor View Medical Center. A surgery took place around 2am Sunday morning, she awoke to find that her right dominant hand and partial forearm had been amputated due to damage.

Jen and her boyfriend Mark had amazing plans for the future as they had just graduated college and got an apartment together, hoping to start a lifetime of adventure together.   It is unbelievable how such a thing could have happened, but the journey will continue on with a slightly altered path, beginning with her recovery.

Unfortunately, bills continue to pile up, the air lift to the hospital, surgery, rehabilitation, and other hospital bills to come continue to increase. There will be therapy and prosthetics needed as well as modifications and adjustments to everyday life.  Any and all positive thoughts, prayers, and support is needed, every little bit

Please donate and pass this on to others as well! Thank you for helping them get through this tough time and helping them continue their journey.
