Friends, Tracy Wheelock Brown needs our help. As you may have heard, on November 13th, Tracy was struck by a car while crossing the street on foot near her home. She suffered some significant injuries that have kept her in the hospital since that day. Since then she has had to undergo 4 surgeries, and more are expected.
Not only was she unable to spend Thanksgiving with her family, but she will spend Christmas and New Years in the hospital too. At this time it is not known when Tracy will be able return home, and she faces a long rehabilitation. Christmas is one of Tracy's most favorite holidays, but this year she is struggling to keep in the spirit of the holiday.
The doctors and nurses at the UMass Medical Center in Worcester are working hard to get Tracy well, but she needs our help as her friends and family. Tracy has not been able to work for the months since her accident, and she and her family are facing many costs that they are struggling to pay. Tracy needs to be focused on getting well, and not on unpaid bills and medical expenses. That's where you can help.
My name is Alyssa, and I've known Tracy for my entire life through our mothers, who were life-long friends until Tracy's mother, Mary, passed away last year. She is like a sister to me, and my mother, Gail, is like an aunt to Tracy. My mother and I can see that Tracy and her family are struggling at a time when she doesn't need the added stress, and at the time of year when we all should be counting our blessings and not struggling to remain positive.
Many of you have visited Tracy or have sent her warm wishes, and Tracy has been very grateful for your thoughts and prayers. But she is too proud to ask for the financial help that she needs. We're therefore looking for donations to help Tracy and her family to cover their personal expenses and future medical expenses, and to ensure that Tracy can focus on getting well. Any amount that you could spare would help greatly, and would give Tracy the opportunity to enjoy her favorite holiday without worry.
