Tracy's Journey
For the last year and a half my family has hoped & prayed as we watched my once energetic, always on-the-go sister lose her mobility and independence - not knowing why.
Today she is confined to a wheelchair, has limited breathing capacity, and has been told by the last in a chain of numerous doctors what we have feared the most - she has ALS .
ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, progressively affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord; and there is no cure at this time...

ALS is a terrible disease for any person at any age - but Tracy is young (47) and has two young boys to raise with her husband Kirk, along with her 22 year old daughter.
We haven't given up hope and are fighting everyday to find ways to help her live longer and stronger. Nevertheless, the disease takes its toll, and unfortunately at a rapid pace. The average life expectancy upon diagnosis is 2-5 years, but can be longer.
With your help, we are hoping to fight these statistics and leave no stone unturned in this battle.
When Tracy was healthy she spent her own time and money selling her hand-made jewelry at the coffee counter of the hospital where she worked. Those funds were always donated to local people in need, often times going to help with others' medical bills. That's the kind of person she is - a huge, giving heart.
