Trace webseries Pilot episode

My name is David Velick and I am a filmmaker and storyteller. If there’s one thing to know about me, its that I like to connect with people on a visual medium.

I am currently in the pre-production stages of planning my next film project titled “Trace”. In short, its about a detective, Abby, who is searching for her missing father. During her search, she runs into Luther who once worked with her father and through this exchange, she gains special abilities that slowly reveal the truth of why her father disappeared when she was young.

A supernatural crime drama, if you will. It will have six (6) episodes ranging from 15-30 minutes in length and will be shot in metro Atlanta. Now, I have some goals for this project:

Use the pilot as a pitch to fully fund the other 5 episodes
Submit it to festivals
Seek distribution and/or syndication
Continue with the 2nd season

Filmmaking is no easy task. It involves a lot of people and work. However, I am very confident that the team I have built thus far will help create something that holds true value to everyone tied to the project. I want this project to be able to contribute something to you and everyone else involved so that all can truly be proud of being a part Trace. We as a team have come up with some unique and exciting ways that we can make you really feel a huge part of this project:

Social Media shoutout (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter)
First access to the pilot episode before everyone else
Behind the scenes video of the process of making the pilot
Receive your name in the credits under ‘Special thanks’
Receive an official poster for the series
A customized prop from the set
Receive associate producer credit
Get a chance to star in the pilot
Receive executive producer credit

So my team and I thought, how can we inform people better? A website! (Would you look at that! How convenient!

Filmmaking is such a rush for me. There is nothing else I can picture myself doing with my life. It feels like what I am supposed to do, and it feels great! And that’s why I moved to Atlanta, GA in 2016 to join the massive explosion of the film industry in the state and connect with other talented filmmakers to tell stories. But this isn’t just about me, it’s really about everyone else. It really does take a village to raise a child (in this case, Trace).

Now, this project, above all, is here to do three things:

Give as many people involved experience with filmmaking, both cast, and crew contributes value to someone who believed in the project to make them truly feel that they are a crucial piece of the project.
Give the other filmmakers confidence from what they have learned and the support that they have behind them to go out and create their own stories to tell.

To me, those three things are priceless. No amount of money can buy it. And that means something to me I feel it does to others too!
And this is where you come in! Remember how I mentioned that it takes a village? Well, we want you, yes you, be become a part of the village of the awesome! There are a few ways to join (it doesn’t involve any outrageous rituals, I promise).
