Medical Negligence - Legal fees & associated costs

Donation protected
Hi Everybody :) I am trying to raise money for legal fees for medical negligence proceedings that have been ongoing for approximately 2.5 years. Most of you know I am a very private person and this is not something that I have done before, but feel that there is no other option for me at this current time. In November 2016 I had major surgery.  During this surgery, a procedure was performed against my wishes and without my consent.  This impacted my life both physically and psychologically, and cannot be undone.  In January 2017 a medical negligence case was started against both the surgeon and the hospital.  It has been a slow process but the court date is expected to be this year, 2019 (update: we hope this will happen at the same time as the tribunal hearing)  As a result of this, the last 2.5 years have been an emotional roller coaster with some serious and well documented low points, but thankfully I am in a much better place now.  Part of this is due to my change of job, petting squirrels and chasing butterflies as a trainee ranger!  But being a trainee, I have had to take a significant pay cut....this is why I'm asking for your help. I have been successful in my application for legal aid, but I need to make a contribution to be able to avail of these funds, this contribution is £1480.  I have also had to have an independent medico-legal report carried out (which goes in my favour) at a cost of £900.  I am required to make my first payment in May 2019. My case cannot progress without these fees being paid, and in order to be successful, my legal team need to issue formal proceedings by October 2019.  This date is the legal deadline set by the court system and if I cannot pay these fees, then my case will not be heard.  My legal team have advised me that I have a strong case.  We have gained significant momentum as the GMC (General Medical Council) have launched an independent investigative tribunal against both the surgeon and his team.  This tribunal will sit between October-December 2019 (update: this will be January 2020).   At the minute, on my trainee wage, I won't be in a financial position to pay these costs for at least another 2 years, by which time the deadline will have passed.  The sooner I can put this case behind me, the sooner I can move on with my life, so any help with this would be forever appreciated. You will notice that the amount I am trying to raise is more than the amounts stated above, this is to cover additional costs along the way, and also the 2.9% transaction fee and £0.25 per donation that GoFundMe apply to all campaigns. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and if you are unable to donate - please share. Any genuine questions, just email me.
