I have been an RN for 30 years. I love being a nurse more than anything and get enormous satisfaction from my work, especially when working with the elderly or the mentally ill. I lost my job six months ago and have been unable to find a new job. I now find myself in a situation I never thought I would face. My 15 year old daughter and I are in immediate jeopardy of losing our home due to being 4 months behind in rent. My unemployment isn't enough to pay rent and cover household expenses. My unemployment benefit will end this month. I can't bear the thought of my child being homeless. She is in an independent study program due to social anxiety and homelessness would surely increase her anxiety. We have two adorable cats that are her lifeline, especially the older one who is a tremendous help in alleviating her anxiety. She is very worried that she will have to give up her adored cats. It has always been EXTREMELY DIFFICULT for me to ask for help especially where money is involved. I know everyone works hard for their money and it's hard to give to others. I would much rather find a new job than ask for help but I feel that I have no choice. I have hesitated to start a gofundme account because of my reluctance to ask for help. I have gone to various local organizations and charities with no luck. At this point I really feel as if I have no choice but to ask for help. Any amount received will be appreciated more than anyone can imagine. Thanks!!
