Some of you may know my friend, Angela. She has a huge heart, a contagious laugh, and a wonderful personality. Up until recently they have been able to manage their finances with all the ups and downs in income. Now though, they are in desperate need to just stay above water. After Angela's last surgery and dealing with those complications, she had to quit her job.
They have gotten rid of all non essentials bills (more than a year ago), have always been coupon clippers and thrift store aficionados. Her church, friends, and family have helped out as much as they can, but they keep falling behind. She has filed for disability and they are even looking into bankruptcy (ironically a bankruptcy lawyer cost like $1200?!) Her husband works literally every available overtime hour at his job, but with medical bill's, it's hard. They have considered letting their home go and move somewhere else, yet even that would actually cost more than what they already pay?!
Angela and her family have been dealing with her ongoing health issues since 2015. This Tuesday (May 14th 2019) will mark her 16th surgery. This one will be an attempt to save part of her bowel or, worst case, remove it all (leaving her with a colostomy bag). Among all of her medical issues; fistualas, fibro, arthritis, foreign body responses, an interestem prosthetic device, possible lupus, and inflammation in her knees. Shes lost jobs because of needing time off for her multiple surgeries. That was until recently, after her last surgery, when she found that it was too hard to physically go to work more often than not.
The last thing her or her family need to worry about after her surgery is money. They need to focus on her healing. Even during all of this, Anglea keeps her humor and faith. She is my favorite person and it breaks my heart for someone who gives even when she doesnt have, to be going thru this.
