Run Lola Run

Donation protected
Our big beautiful Lola was hit by a car last week during a high-speed squirrel chase. Luckily she survived, but she has fractured her pelvis in four places - one big fracture by her femur which is cause for concern. In a smaller dog surgery would be the best bet, but she's so heavy (almost 100 lbs), that the vet surgeon recommended trying to heal the bone without surgery. So that's what we're trying to do. Keep her still and drugged up for a minimum of four weeks. She can't stand or walk so we've learned all sorts of new tricks - like manually emptying her bladder!

So far the vet bills are $1,500, and more medication and x-rays coming up in the next few weeks, probably another $500.  This is not the best time financially for this to happen to our family so we are reaching out to our community for a bit of extra support.

Lola is such a sweet muffin of a dog, and we are committed to seeing this through with her. The last week has been super intense, emotionally and physically (she's so bloody heavy!) and she has been such a trooper

- not a moment of aggression, just pure love. We are already so grateful for the help of amazing friends and neighbors and wanted to share this fundraising idea if anyone wants to contribute to the "Run Lola Run" Fund.
