We are raising funds to help pay for our cat, Alex’s, Medical bills.
Towards the end of November, we took him to the emergency vet after a couple days of labored breathing began to worsen.
They did testing and realized that his chest was full of fluid. They tapped his chest, and removed 200ML of fluid. His breathing went back to normal, but we did not understand how this could have happened.
After tests for Feline Lukemia and Heart disease came back negative, we were at a loss.
The next day, we took him to our Primary Vet to try and get some answers. There, they tested his blood and urine, tested the fluid from his chest and took x-rays.
His Bloodwork came back normal, and we discovered from Urine test that he also had a UTI, which he was showing zero signs of. The other testing would take a few days to get results. So, as a precaution, they put him on 3 different heart medications, and an Antibiotic.
The following day we recieved our answer.
He has a mass in his chest. Thankfully his heart is normal, so they removed him from the heart medications.
They recommended that we go to a specialist to do further testing on the mass.
So, we took him to a cardiologist.
The Cardiologist did a CT Scan, and a test to see the structure of the cells within the mass itself. This test will tell us wether or not, this is cancer we’re dealing with. The doctor did say, based on the size and shape, it is likely cancer, and due to its large size, it is pressing on his lungs, and will continue to cause issues.
We are still waiting for the test results regarding the test to the mass and the CT.
He does not currently seem or act like he is in any pain.
We are now over $6,600 into his testing, which we already are struggling to pay, and will unfortunately not be able to afford any treatment options they may give us.
We love our pets like they are our own children. We are devastated by this news. We are not the type of people to ask for help, but we are willing to do anything to help save his life. Alex is only 8 years old, and has such a long life ahead of him still. He does not deserve this fate.
Currently, we are focused on paying for all of the testing he’s gone through so far.
Anything at all helps.
Even if you are not able to donate, we ask that you please SHARE this, and keep Alex in your Thoughts and Prayers.
Thank you for your consideration.
