TPLO Surgery for Chance

Donation protected
Chance is the sweetest, goofiest, most affectionate dog. He came to the shelter in a litter of 13, was adopted but returned after a year due to allergies. He had also been limping for 7 months. When he came back to the shelter, the medical team took x-rays and found out that Chance had fractured coronoid process, a genetic condition, in both elbows. After almost 3 months in shelter, Chance underwent surgery in February of 2018.  He came home with me in March. After months of physio and slowly increasing exercise, he was making great progress, and was well on his way to being a healthy, albeit wobbly, happy dog.

Unfortunately, this weekend Chance tore a cruciate ligament in his right knee. He needs Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy surgery AKA TPLO.  Due to his previous conditions, he isn't a candidate for pet insurance. He is scheduled for surgery this week as per the vet's recommendation, as if we wait too long there is a chance he could hurt his other knee as it is bearing all the weight right now.

I can't begin to describe what this dog means to me. Known primarily for his tiny lower jaw, he also has the kindest demeanor and is genuinely my favourite being on this planet. He is a 75 pound lap dog who loves everyone and everything. He has already been through extensive surgeries and physio once, so I already know he is strong little guy.

I would be beyond grateful for any help. I've never had to do something like this but 3500$ is a lot of money and save as I do, I just can't afford this unexpected expense. Thank you for taking the time to read this <3
