Toyos' Venezuelan Exodus Fund

Donation protected
Hello all, my name is Matt Pierson and I'm from the US but live abroad now with work. I want to introduce you to the Toyo family from Cabimas, Venezuela. Cabimas is right in the middle of the largest oil supply outside of the Middle East. It has so much oil that it literally seeps out of ground and pools of it catch fire in the sun, yet in the middle of all of that abundance the Toyos routinely have to skip meals because Venezuela is falling apart and has become a nightmare.

I met Cleyver Toyo fifteen years ago when I was an LDS missionary. He is the type of man that has never met a stranger, isn't afraid of getting his hands dirty and would give you the shirt off his back. He's got a wife now, Rosimary, and three beautiful children: Santiago (11), Salvador (7) and Samantha (6). You've never met them, but his family has the same dreams as yours. Rosimary wants to compete on "Cupcake Wars", Santiago is a book worm, gets straight A's and wants to be a geologist, Salvador can't decide if he wants to be a fireman or work with computers and Samantha loves helping people and wants to be a doctor. A great family caught in a messed up situation.

You've seen on the news that the people of Venezuela are suffering. The country is experiencing hyper-inflation (Currently at over 4000% inflation in 2018 ... you read that right). There is no medicine and children are starving to death (Warning: link has some devastating photos). The average Venezuelan has lost 19 pounds because of scarcity of food. The situation is bleak and it is only getting darker. Cleyver and Rosimary can't bear to watch their kids suffer anymore and have decided to move to Peru and need your help to do so.

The Toyos have friends in Peru and their college degrees will be recognized there so they don't have to start completely from scratch. They have already sold everything they can sell, borrowed every penny they can borrow and put every last cent of their savings in to getting the family out but they are still short. Cleyver estimates they will need about $1,400 US to buy the plane tickets for the family and $600 US will be enough to get them a foothold in Peru till they can take it from there.  $200 is about the amount that GoFundMe takes for hosting. We have a mutual friend who will hand deliver the donated funds so that nothing gets sucked up in bank fees.

Sothere it is, they need $2,200 US.  Please help the Toyos get out of this nightmare. Whatever you can spare is appreciated but if you can think of a better way to spend a discretionary $25 bucks you've got me beat. If you have further questions you can always reach out to me directly but it's pretty straight forward, the Toyos really need your help and a little bit from you can go a long long way.

In their own words...
